Meet Julie. She started her career with selectability Townsville as a lifestyle support worker in late 2018, and following our career progression pathway and taking advantage of training opportunities quickly moved into a team leader role before recently commencing as regional coordinator in Ingham.

With a background in predominantly hospitality and administration roles across a range of industries Julie felt it was time for a change when returning to the workforce after having children.

For Julie the best part of her job is seeing recipients achieve their goals no matter how big or small. She enjoys working alongside a supportive team of co-workers and strives to make someone's day better - every day!

Shae Gaffney

For team leader Shae, building trust and strong relationships is at the heart of quality support, particularly in close-knit communities. 

Based on Palm Island, Shae leads a team delivering tailored care to support recipients to remain connected to their community, strengthen their independence and work towards their individual goals.  According to Shae, a big part of her role is creating an environment where recipients feel heard, respected and empowered. 

“I support our team on Palm Island to deliver culturally respectful, person-centred care that empowers recipients to stay connected, independent, and engaged within their community,” said Shae. 

“Working closely with employees, recipients and families, I am focused on ensuring support is both meaningful and responsive to the needs of the community.”

Born in Charters Towers, Ange spent many years building her career in Townsville before moving back in early 2025. Now, with more than 16 years’ experience in the community services sector, she is leading service delivery in the very community that shaped her.

Stepping into her role as regional coordinator, Ange is responsible for overseeing daily service delivery and providing direction to NDIS group and individual services, supported independent living, child and family care and support coordination.

Meet Kerrilyn! A key worker for supported independent living in Charters Towers.

In her role, Kerrilyn leads a team providing residential care to young people. This involves ensuring the young people are attending school, accessing social and sporting opportunities, eating nutritious foods and being active.  

“It's important to acknowledge this group of people who are at a time in their lives where positive, supportive and encouraging role models is paramount to their growth,” said Kerrilyn.

“They face unique obstacles and need guidance more than ever as they take on new challenges.

“It's so rewarding to be able to be a part of this chapter and make a positive difference.” 

With 2 years under her belt at selectability, Kerrilyn’s expertise gives her the ability to effectively manage 6 SIL houses in the region.

“My role is to oversee general routines in the houses and communicate between the SILs and team leaders.

“I often provide guidance and mentoring to LSWs which assists with smooth running of the SILs.

“I attend appointments with our young people and try to be a presence in their lives.”

Jenelle Maher

For Bowen’s newest regional coordinator Jenelle Maher, community has always been at the heart of what she does.

Originally from Foxton, a small town in Aotearoa/New Zealand, Jenelle has spent most of her life in Bowen—a place she now proudly calls home.

“I never really set out to work in the disability sector,” she said.

“But I’ve always been heavily involved in my kids’ sports, and one day I found myself advocating for a young boy with a disability who wanted to join a soccer team.

That experience sparked her journey into the sector, leading her to her first role as a club coordinator where operations were similar to selectability’s Clubhouse - a group program that encourages socialisation, and puts members in charge of their own wellbeing.

“That moment changed everything for me, it has been challenging but extremely rewarding.

After joining selectability in May 2024 as a service delivery team leader, Jenelle quickly embraced the organisation’s values, providing high quality support to those in the Whitsunday region.

“Every day is different! I love when staff come in feeling proud of their day at work and how they’ve helped someone else,” she said.

Skyye Nuttall

Life Coach

Meet Skyye! She has been a key staff member of Bowen selectability for the past 3 and a half years.

The Airlie Beach local originally started her journey as a lifestyle support worker, before taking advantage of selectability’s career progression pathway, where she moved to a life coach role. Currently Skyye has been given the opportunity to try out a new role of acting team leader.

“My role includes supporting those with lived experience and disability to engage in activities to improve their psychosocial skills and empower them to create meaningful relationships with other recipients by attending out-of-town trips and activities,” said Skyye.

It is Skyye’s role to assist recipients to set meaningful goals that enable them to create a life on their terms; closing the gap between where they are now and where they want to be.

“I love my Job! Organisations like selectability exist to ensure people who are living in isolated or rural communities have the chance to build upon their psychosocial skills, create friendships and meaningful engagement, as well as provide mental wellbeing support and assistance to integrate back into society, something I think we are all passionate about.”

Having worked with selectability for the last 3.5 years, Nicole has been an instrumental part of the growth of services across the Mackay region, particularly through her previous roles as a life coach and mental health hub coordinator.

Now as regional coordinator, Nicole oversees the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health Hub, ensuring services are in line with consumer needs, and building and nurturing relationships with local stakeholders and recruiting a local workforce.

“I love the passionate team who makes it easy to dedicate the best outcomes for our consumers and the welcoming environment we strive for.”

Nicole got into community work thirteen years ago and discovered she loved it, and it’s this caring culture that drew her to selectability.

“I love the environment here, it’s passionate, caring, creative, and non-judgmental.”

Nicole loves gardening, volleyball and spending time with family and friends.

Coleen is very passionate about her role as Team Leader of service delivery which enables her to work directly with people with disability to assist them live their best life.

Coleen joins the friendly Mackay team and loves to have joke and laugh.

She always works to help people out in need and is looking forward to building a strong team in Mackay.

At selectability, our child and family care teams across regional Queensland provide nurturing environments where young people can thrive. An environment that Mackay team leader Tama Butler is proud to be a part of.  

“My role typically involves supporting, mentoring and overseeing staff and young people that are with the program,” said Tama.

Tama has been with selectability for six years, previously working as an NDIS team leader before moving into child and family care.  With a diploma in community service and years of experience in caring and supporting roles, her passion for making a difference is clear.

Based in Mackay, Leonie supports Clubhouse members through group programs and daily engagement. Leonie joined selectability just over two years ago, initially working as a lifestyle support worker before stepping into her current role.

Her role centres on helping people build confidence, strengthen life skills and connect with others in a supportive environment. Through her work at the Mackay Clubhouse, Leonie helps create a space where members can connect, build confidence and feel part of a supportive community.

Meet Natasha, on of our Life coaches at selectability in Mackay! 

As a Life Coach Natasha assists clubhouse members to set meaningful goals to enable them to create a life on their terms; assisting to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be.

Our clubhouses are dynamic environment, tailored to the diverse needs of members and has proven results in delivering practical outcomes. This is evident in the various activities run at the Mackay clubhouse in particular, from craft or cooking classes, to community access activites.

Meet Kayla! Originally from Townsville, the mother of three has a great passion for helping others in her community.

As regional coordinator, Kayla is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders across clinical, community and primary health services, as well as local and state government agencies and private industry.

It is also her role to oversee day to day operations for selectability across the Moranbah region. 

“I absolutely love working with selectability,” said Kayla.

“I love the growth I can achieve, helping consumers and listening to their background stories and how I can help them.”

“I have always had a strong passion for mental health, I have experienced it myself and have lost many people I know to suicide in my life.”

Kayla attributes a lot of her passion to her radiating positivity and outgoing nature, making her a great asset to the team.

“I know I come from a good place, and I feel if I'm in this industry with the right intentions, like a lot of people are, we can make a change.”

For the last two years selectability has been providing services in Moranbah, from individual support to group programs and Carer Gateway.

 Most recently, we have extended our services in the region to include NDIS support coordination!

In light of this we are fortunate enough to introduce you to Kaitlyn - our new support coordinator in Moranbah!

Local to the region, Kaitlyn works closely with consumers to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is her role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans.

“I work with our consumers to connect them with services, manage funding, and ensure their support needs are met,” Kaitlyn says.

“The role involves organising appointments, problem-solving and helping clients achieve their personal goals by linking them to the right resources.

Formally a solo flight attendant on a small airline that serviced FIFO workers, Kaitlyn and her family moved to Moranbah in 2022, where she started her role as a lifestyle support worker with selectability.

A job she has been passionate about since the beginning.

“Working in this industry in a small town allows me to help fill the gaps in support services.

“It’s rewarding to contribute to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives while being part of a strong, connected community.

“I love the opportunity to make a positive impact and provide solutions that genuinely help people.

“I'm at that point in my life where I feel I am able to offer support, guidance and resources to those who may be struggling.”

Employees like Kaitlyn are a strong testament of selectability’s values and vision; passionate about helping regional Queenslanders live more independently, maintain relationships, and become more active in their local community.

Meet Adefemi, a Lifestyle Support Worker at our Mornabah location.

Born in Nigeria, Adefemi started his career as care assistant with a disability home, helping clients with personal care, daily living tasks and community access.

With more than four years of experience in the sector, Adefemi is committed to always putting the consumer first and providing the best possible care.

“I love my job because everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to helping the consumer," Adefemi said. 

“When individuals experience optimal mental health, they’re better equipped to fully engage in various aspects of life, be it relationships, work, or personal development.

“Seeing individuals’ resilience and growth through support is incredibly rewarding.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and make a meaningful impact at selectability.”

Debbie Erswell

Debbie is responsible for leading the team in Longreach and overseeing the day-today operations to ensure the delivery high-quality, person-centred services across the central west.

Originally from the UK, Debbie considers herself a ‘possie’ (part pom, part Aussie).

Debbie has diverse industry experience including working in health, the employment sector, disability, community services and tourism which position her well to succeed in her new role.

“I spent 6 years living in the Northern Territory where I had the opportunity to manage a program delivering outreach health services to over 80 remote communities,” said Debbie.

Echoing selectability’s commitment to regional Queenslanders, Debbie believes access to high quality support is everyone’s right.

“I believe all rural and remote communities should have access to flexible, responsive services regardless of location.”

While her love of travel has seen Debbie live in serval countries including Spain, Greece, Israel, Portugal and Cyprus, she has found her ‘happy place’ in Longreach.

“I love living in the outback with the endless skies, stunning sunrises and sunsets.

When she’s not at work you’ll find Debbie spending time chilling out and sharing laughs with her partner, family … and her dog Ace!

AS the Regional Manager for Townsville, Bob plays a crucial role in overseeing the NDIS portfolio. His responsibilities encompass Service Delivery, Support Coordination, and SIL Homes. With his extensive experience and commitment to quality service, Bob ensures that the team meets the highest standards in providing support and coordination for individuals under the NDIS framework.

He has a diverse background in management across various industries, and has found his true passion in helping individuals improve their personal situations and achieve their goals. His dedication to enhancing the quality of life for others drives his work and ensures that the team delivers exceptional support and service.

“My job is to help make other people’s everyday life, easier, so they can be more effective in helping other people live better lives.”

Jackie Inwood

In addition to overseeing operations at the popular Mental Health Hub in the Townsville CBD—a safe and welcoming space for consumers to participate in a wide range of activities—Jackie also coordinates the selectwellbeing program.

“My role also entails managing various block-funded programs within selectability, as well as supervising a team of 20 employees who provide group and individual support to more than 250 consumers,” said Jackie.

Playing an instrumental role in the lives of many, Jackie’s passion for her work stands out as an overwhelming standard for her team.

Her dedication alone is reflected in the stories of the consumers she supports.

“I've always been personally intrigued by the mental health and suicide prevention field.

There can be no doubt that Jackie’s progression as a leader in the last 7 years at selectability is a testament to her tenacity and drive for the highest quality service.

It is with this that her legacy is not measured in her years of dedication, but by the countless lives she has impacted in the Townsville region and the strength of the team she continues to lead.

Rachel Buckland

Customer Service Officer

Rachel, who has been working with selectability for the past 2 years, plays a vital role in supporting consumers by coordinating rosters and shifts, ensuring they receive the help they need, and being a point of contact often during times of vulnerability.

“As a CSO, I work alongside the team leader to help ensure all consumers who are under a certain program or onboarding receive their correct shifts,” said Rachel.

“Basically a CSO is the key person who interacts with consumers via phone. 

Beyond her passion for her role, Rachel acknowledges that her unyielding advocacy for the positive mental wellbeing of others stems from her own lived experience of suicide.

“Mental health has played a huge part in my life from losing close friends, and my late brother to suicide.

“Working with vulnerable people in acute stages has been extremely rewarding for me.

“Seeing the small ways, we are able to interact, and help has made a huge difference already for some of the consumers I get to work alongside.

“What I enjoy most about working with selectability is having the ability to help others who may be struggling.

“This could be things like helping those who may be dealing with homelessness, and putting shifts in place when people are struggling and many more things.”

While Rachel’s tenacity and strong personality are welcome assets to consumers and work mates, they are also a reflection of selectability’s values.

Her lived experience, in which her advocacy and knowledge both inside and outside of work, gives direct guidance toward our vision as an organisation.

For Townsville service navigator, Chanelle, helping individuals to understand and access the NDIS is more than just a job, it’s a passion grounded in community and person-centred support. 

A lifelong Townsville local and proud mum of three, Chanelle has been part of the selectability team for three years. She started as lifestyle support worker before stepping into her current role as a service navigator, where she helps individuals navigate the process of accessing the NDIS. 

“In my role, I support individuals with understanding the NDIS, securing the right supports, and gathering the documentation they need for applications like the Disability Support Pension and public housing,” said Chanelle.

Sometimes finding the right support or accessing the NDIS can be overwhelming. Other times it’s a matter of knowing where to turn. That’s where Townsville service navigator Georgia comes in; her role is all about connecting recipients with local services and resources that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Over the past four years, Georgia has progressed from a lifestyle support worker into her current role as a service navigator, supporting recipients across Townsville, Charters Towers, the Burdekin, Ingham, Palm Island and Richmond. Working across such a large footprint gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities that exist across regional Queensland communities.

“A service navigator plays a vital role in guiding individuals through complex systems of support including health, community, housing, disability and social services,” said Georgia

From there, I transitioned into a Support Coordinator role, where I worked closely with individuals to navigate the NDIS and connect with services that aligned with their goals and aspirations.

I’ve proudly stepped into a Team Leader position in Service Delivery, where I lead by example and support teams to provide high-quality, outcome-driven services. I’m deeply passionate and committed to empowering people to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives. Helping individuals unlock their potential and live with greater independence and purpose is what drives me every day.

Sarah Anau

Team Leader - Support Coordination

Sarah has been with selectability for nearly four years - recently making the move from support coordination into service delivery where she supports the needs of both consumers and Lifestyle Support Workers (LSWs).

Sarah regularly engages with consumers to ensure they’re happy with their services identify any barriers, and to guide them through their recovery journey. A big part of her role is mentoring her team of LSWs to ensure they have access to the support and resources they need to effectively carry out their roles.

She also works with the consumer service Officers to create rosters and match consumers with LSWs to create a support network they’re comfortable with. 

Sarah started at selectability as an LSW so she can relate to her team and understand the challenges that may arise. She has also volunteered at Inspire Clubhouse, helping them run their classes.

Taking advantage of our career progression opportunities, Sarah completed a Certificate III in Individual Support and a Certificate IV in Mental Health with selectability Training. This helped her progress to role of Support Coordinator Psychosocial Recovery Coach. She did this for 12 months before stepping into the new position the team leader role.

As a team leader of support coordination, Kristy is about driving positive outcomes for recipients while supporting her team to develop and succeed. 

With over 10 years of experience in the sector, Kristy works alongside recipients understanding that needs are different and advocating for those who need support. She focuses on achieving positive outcomes for recipients, ensuring compliance with NDIS requirements, building strong community partnerships, and supporting both her team and recipients to achieve their goals. 

Drawing on her Diploma in Community Services and Certificate IV in Mental Health, Kristy brings wealth of knowledge and strong understanding of person-centred care to the community she supports.

With 15 years working in retail and communications management, Nathan made the switch to a rewarding career to make a difference in the community. He's passionate about person-centred care and ensuring that everyone has access to support.

Based in Townsville, Mary supports recipients with complex needs, often working across multiple services and agencies to coordinate care and reduce risk.  

Her role can involve supporting people transitioning from hospital, corrections or the child protection system, with a focus on creating sustainable supports that allow recipients to live the life they choose.

For Mount Isa team leader Loata, leadership starts with care, integrity and creating a space where people feel they belong.

As a part of her role, she oversees the operations of the Clubhouse while working closely with recipients to build on their strengths, support positive choices and set meaningful goals.  

Her focus is on helping people grow in confidence and independence, while ensuring the Clubhouse remains a welcoming environment that supports mental wellbeing.

“I love being able to offer care and love for the recipients and create a happy environment with workers and staff every day,” said Loata.

“I look forward to seeing recipients work towards their goals and build trust and confidence to express themselves and know that they are always included in the community and not look down on themselves because of their limitations.

Meet Breanna - she plays a key leadership role in supporting our Mount Isa recipients across a range of programs.

Known to most as Bre, she leads selectability’s supported independent living (SIL) and child and family care services, overseeing residential properties where recipients and young people receive the support they need to thrive.

With more than four years at selectability, Bre’s journey reflects both professional growth and a strong commitment to community-based care.

Having progressed through multiple frontline and leadership roles, she now manages the day-to-day operations of SIL and 24/7 accommodation services, while also supporting young people.

For Bre, the role is about more than coordination and compliance. It is about people, advocacy and long-term impact.

Emily supports an amazing team of Lifestyle Support Workers that support our recipients to access the community. She also helps with the continued growth of the team by creating a space for them to gain further skills and knowledge, whilst encouraging their passion of helping and supporting recipients.

For Rockhampton local Lina Baker, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others is more than a job—it’s a calling. Born in the small town of Kingaroy and raised on a cattle farm surrounded by family, Lina has always had a strong sense of connection and community.

She brings this same passion for people into her role as a support coordinator at selectability, where she helps recipients navigate the NDIS and connect with the supports that best fit their goals and lifestyles.

With 4 years’ experience as a disability support worker and a background in youth work, Lina knows first-hand the importance of person-centred, consistent care.

For Rockhampton local Isabella Miller, joining selectability has meant more than just a job—it’s been an opportunity to learn, grow, and be part of something bigger. 

From scheduling support officer (SSO) to now Program Coordinator at the Bike Shed. 

“I loved the position and saw it as something I could grow in,” she said. “There’s so much opportunity within the company, and I’ve felt supported from day one.” 

Wayne Kelso

Lifestyle Support Worker

For Longreach lifestyle support worker Wayne Kelso, joining selectability meant more than just a career move—it was a chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while building a stable and rewarding future for himself.

Originally from Mount Isa, Wayne brings with him a unique blend of professional and personal insight into the NDIS space.

Diagnosed with autism and formerly a qualified chef, he made the shift from hospitality into individual support after earning his Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

Today, he’s using that lived experience to empower others to live more independently through the NDIS.

“I love helping people and assisting them in maintaining their independence, while making sure they’re safe, happy, and healthy,” said Wayne.

In his role, Wayne supports recipients to navigate daily life—from developing life skills and engaging in the community to simply doing the things they enjoy most.

Meet Melissa! Normanton local and regional manager of Kukatja Place, our residential aged care facility in the heart of the small town, made famous by the largest ever estuarine crocodile to be captured, 8.63 metres long!

“It is an absolute privilege to care for our community elders and journey with them and their families through this very precious stage of life,” said Melissa.

Knowing her calling was always the bush, Melissa spent most of her career working as a nurse across different remote locations in the Gulf, Cape York, Kimberlys, Northern Territory and central Australia.

Michel Gore

Regional Manager

With more than a decade of healthcare experience and a passion for supporting older people, Michel Gore has stepped into the role of Regional Manager at selectability’s new aged care service in Aurukun.

From July 2, selectability took over management responsibility of centred based aged care service from Aurukun Shire Council, providing care to more than 40 recipients in the region.

This transition of provider; led by Michel and the aged care team will ensure the care for Elders remains centred on compassionate, culturally safe, and highest-quality.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Michel moved to New Zealand at 20 to complete a Bachelor of Nursing, later relocating to Australia in 2015.

Her journey into remote healthcare began in 2023 and has led her to where she is today, overseeing the operations and performance of selectability’s newest facility.

Now based in Aurukun; located on the western coast of the Cape York Peninsula; Michel says she’s proud to be part of bringing selectability’s care-centred approach to the region.

Meet Matt – Our rotational regional manager for our aged care service in the Lower Gulf!

As part of our commitment to improving the lives of regional Queenslanders, selectability took over management responsibility of three First Nations residential aged care facilities: Ngooderi House, Kukatja Place, and Kuba Natha Hostel, in the Lower Gulf.

As part of this delivery of service, Matt is one of four regional managers appointed to oversee the operations of the facilities.

As child and family care team leader, Emma plays an important role in creating safe, supportive environments where children and young people can feel heard, valued and supported to reach their goals. Through care, connection and strong leadership, Emma helps strengthen families and communities across regions. 

Bri Kingston

Meet Bri, a proud Cairns local with a strong connection to the community. 

With over 5 years of experience working in the industry, she has a deep understanding of person-centred approaches and the importance of empowering people to achieve their goals. 

As a support coordinator and recovery coach, she helps NDIS recipients understand their plans and connect with supports with a focus on coaching, collaboration with services, and building on individual strengths. She supports recipients to take control of their lives and work through barriers to achieve their goals. 

"The best part of my job is working closely with participants and seeing the positive impact of the support we provide. Helping people overcome challenges and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding. I love knowing that I’m making a real difference in someone’s life, and I look forward to continuing to build strong connections and support people in reaching their full potential." 

Taegan Andrews

.In the heart of Far North Queensland, Team Leader Service Delivery Taegan Andrews is helping ensure recipients in the Cairns region receive high-quality, person-centred support every day. 

In her role, she leads employees to deliver the highest quality of care for recipients, ensuring it remains consistent, safe and aligned with individual goals. 

Her passion for the sector began years ago when she volunteered with a weekend social group, a decision that sparked a long-term commitment to the NDIS and community support. 

Madeline Sizeland

Support Coordinator

For Moranbah local Madeline, working as a lifestyle support worker is about more than day-to-day support. It is about helping recipients feel empowered, respected and supported to work towards the goals that matter to them. 
 
After relocating from the Sunshine Coast, Madeline has embraced life in Moranbah and the close-knit nature of the community.  Working in a regional setting has strengthened her appreciation for connection, both within the community and through the relationships she builds with recipients. 
 
Madeline has worked in the disability and community services sector for four years and brings a strong foundation of skills and experience to her role.  Her work is grounded in a person-centred approach, supporting recipients to build confidence, develop skills and exercise choice and control in their everyday lives.

Support and Scheduling Officer

Based in Ingham, Kass plays an important role in supporting selectability’s work in the local community, helping ensure recipients and employees are connected to the right support at the right time. 

As a support and scheduling officer, Kass works closely with teams, recipients and community members, providing the coordination and administrative support that allows services to run smoothly.

By keeping communication strong and systems organised behind the scenes, recipients are well supported with reliable care.

In her role, Kass coordinates schedules and provides administrative support that underpins service delivery. While much of the work happens out of sight, its impact is felt across the wide range of services delivered to the region.

Justin is a Lifestyle Support Worker on Palm Island, where community connection is central to his work. He supports recipients to build independence, strengthen life skills and engage in activities aligned with their interests and goals. Working both one?on?one and within the clubhouse, Justin helps create safe, welcoming spaces that encourage confidence, choice and control. With over 18 years’ experience working in remote environments, Justin brings resilience, empathy and a people?first approach to his role. He values teamwork, respects the island’s community and culture, and is passionate about supporting recipients to live with greater confidence and independence.

In Longreach, support coordination plays an important role in helping recipients navigate the NDIS and stay connected to the supports they need. 

For Roxanne “Roxy” Martyr, that work is grounded in understanding each person’s goals and helping turn plans into practical outcomes.

“As a support coordinator, I assist NDIS recipients to understand and implement their plans by connecting them with appropriate services, coordinating support and ensuring they are working towards their goals,” said Roxy.

Originally from Rockhampton, Roxy has called Longreach home for the past 10 years. Her strong connection to the community shapes how she approaches her role, with a focus on building relationships and ensuring recipients feel supported locally.
