BikeShed in Bowen

The BikeShed has been busy this month with two new additions. The team recently held a maintenance workshop where everyone got involved and put together new tricycles. This session encouraged them to come together to learn new skills, try out tools and learn more about bikes.

The tricycles will make it more accessible for people with different abilities to take part in the upcoming ride sessions.

The Bowen Mental Health Hub provides a central location for people to access a range of NDIS and government funded programs and services to improve mental wellbeing.

We surveyed Bowen residents before establishing our presence and 93 per cent of respondents believed there was a need for a dedicated facility in the region.

In addition 85 per cent said they know someone who would have benefitted from our services in the past 12 months and 70 per cent said they would have benefitted personally.

If you are seeking mental wellbeing or suicide prevention support, please contact the Hub or drop in to see the team. You don’t need a referral or appointment.
