Lou and Matt were looking for a support network to help them gain confidence and reach their lifestyle goals. They joined selectability’s Horizon Clubhouse community and say it feels as though they have gained a new family.
Rob was in a serious accident when he was 23 years old which meant he could no longer walk. He says the NDIS opened up great opportunities for him and selectability has helped him get the most out of his plan.
Darren began suffering seizures when he was four years old before being diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 10. Since receiving support from selectability he says he’s getting back out into the community and enjoying his sports, table tennis and ten pin bowling.
Leesa knew she wanted to help people so studied a Diploma of Community Services. She now works as a Lifestyle Support Worker with selectability and says it's been a rewarding and fulfilling career change.
Ben has been a member of selectability's Inspire Clubhouse in Townsville for a number of years. He says the supportive environment has enhanced his life and connected him with the community.
Jason has lived on Palm Island his whole life. He says his life was down in the gutter and he wasn't getting the help he needed until he found selectability.
Michelle says it wasn't long ago that she was a shadow of her former self, that couldn't leave the house on her own, even go to the shops. She says the support from selectability has changed her life for the better.
