Townsville

A tale of friendship and connection

The Townsville Mental Health Hub has been busy preparing for their production of The Jungle Book. From learning lines to crafting costumes and backdrops, everyone had a fun time working behind the scenes and putting together an excellent performance. Through support and encouragement, the members formed strong connections and learned that through their differences they can create something truly special.

From the early days of providing individual support services as a small not-for-profit in Townsville, selectability has grown to become an industry leader in mental health, providing a wide range of accessible support services and NDIS assistance for Townsville locals.

Townsville is not only home to selectability’s corporate team but also hosts the largest employee base across our footprint.

Townsville is also the birthplace of the BikeShed designed to help the regional communities overcome loneliness and get more active. Based on the proven Men’s Shed concept, selectability’s Bike Shed provides an inclusive space for locals to connect, work on projects, join in group bike rides and improve their mental wellbeing.

selectability Townsville actively engages with the community through hosting, participating in and delivering a range of events to reduce stigma around mental illness and encourage help-seeking behaviour. This can be seen through events like the ‘On Your Bike for Mental Health’ community event to celebrate World Mental Health Day. The annual event continues to grow and build our reputation.
