WATCH: Pam's story - 30 years of care
For the past 30 years, Pam has been supported by selectability, beginning as one of our very first recipients in 1996, when our organisation was known as SOLAS. Her journey reflects both the evolution of our services and the lasting impact of compassionate, person-centred support.
Before seeking support, Pam experienced significant trauma following an incident that threatened the safety of herself and her two sons. In the years that followed, she faced ongoing mental health challenges that profoundly affected her confidence, independence and sense of safety. Through continued support, advocacy and coordination, Pam has taken meaningful steps forward, celebrating the small wins that have made a significant difference in her everyday life.
In this video, Pam reflects on her journey over the past three decades and the support she continues to receive today. Her story is one of resilience, perseverance and hope, and a powerful reminder of the impact that long-term, trusted support can have on mental wellbeing.
We are honoured that Pam has chosen to share her story and help inspire others on their own journey.
