selectability ... providing a clear pathway for career progression!

12 July 2022

In today’s competitive market, employees expect more from their employers. They need to see a clear pathway for career progression and opportunities for professional development.

Since the introduction of the NDIS the community services sector has become one of the largest in Australia, and it continues to grow. Currently that there are not enough candidates to fill the many vacancies so employers need to provide a point of difference to give candidates a reason to choose them.

Kristin Coppola, selectability’s Workforce Development Advisor said offering professional development and training opportunities shows an organisation cares about its employees and their job satisfaction.

“Employees want to know that an organisation is interested keeping them long-term and has plans in place to support this,” said Kristin.

“At selectability we have mapped out career pathways for key roles so that employees know exactly what they need to do to progress.

"We also provide training through our learning management system and easy access to discounted certificate and diploma courses through our RTO, selectability Training.

“In 2020 our approach to workforce development earned us the title of the state’s Medium Employer of the Year in the Queensland Training Awards.

“selectability is committed to providing professional development and career progression opportunities ... many current employees have taken advantage of these to increase pay levels and move to more senior roles.”

Research shows if employees can see a clear plan for growth and development within an organisation they are more likely to remain with their employer.
