Caring for carers
selectability is committed to supporting the wellbeing carers across regional Queensland.
We understand that carers perform an essential role that is generally taken on with little support or training. As carers encounter new and confronting situations feelings of fear, grief, anger and hopelessness can arise.
Our focus is on providing services to ensure that carers have the emotional resilience and wellbeing to continue to provide the best care possible.
We have a range of initiatives and support available to carers including:
- Carer respite (planned & emergency)
- Individual and group counselling
- Carer training - through selectability Training
- NDIS assistance and advice
selectability acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we provide services and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge those with lived experience and those who support and partner with us to improve mental wellbeing and prevent suicide across regional Queensland.
