Fire project

Fire project

selectability Cairns is partnering with Harbrow Mentoring to deliver the Fire project in Earlville and Edmonton. The project is designed to provide the youth of Cairns South with meaningful activities to engage in after-hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The12-month project aims to divert young people away from unstructured and unsupported environments where they may be at risk of offending or engaging in anti-social behaviours.

It also aims to reconnect young people to themselves, each other and community referrals to other support services and programs. This includes an after hours program at the selectability BikeShed.

Project mentors, like Shea (pictured below) will conduct outreach in popular youth hang out spots, including Earlville shopping centre, to encourage young people to get involved in the activities.

Free sports activities

Every Friday (6.00pm - 7.30pm) and Saturday (5.00pm - 6.30pm) until 16 September we will be supporting FREE sporting activities and food at Todd and Boyce Street parks. Registration is not required ... just turn up!
