selectability opens Mental Health Hub in Ingham

27 April 2021

Ingham residents can now access a range of vital mental wellbeing services as leading provider selectability today officially opens the doors to its Mental Health Hub.

The Mental Health Hub provides a range of NDIS and government funded services to improve the mental wellbeing of individuals and contribute to suicide prevention in Ingham.

selectability CEO, Debra Burden said they had been operating across the region for several years without a physical location and the move was part of selectability’s commitment to improving the mental wellbeing of people across the region and contributing to suicide prevention.

“We are committed to improving the mental wellbeing of regional Queenslanders so opening a Mental Health Hub in Ingham has been an important step for us.

“The Ingham community has been telling us for some time that they would like to be able to access more of our services locally, and we’re responding. I’m also happy to share with you that our first selectability-branded vehicle has hit the streets.

“We pride ourselves on providing services that are flexible and tailored to the needs of the people and communities we support,” said Ms Burden.

This programs on offer at the Hub include the innovative Bike Shed, a new facility designed to help the Ingham community overcome loneliness and get more active.

Based on the proven Men’s Shed concept, selectability’s Bike Shed provides an inclusive space for locals to connect, work on projects, join in group bike rides and improve their mental wellbeing.

Hinchinbrook Shire Mayor Ramon Jayo welcomed the opening of the Mental Health Hub and selectability’s commitment to improving the mental wellbeing of the Ingham community.

“Our diverse community needs access to the same mental health support available in larger regional centres.

“We look forward to working with selectability to ensure the programs and services are in line with what the region needs.”

The Mental Health Hub is located at 90 Lannercost Street, Ingham.
