Our NDIS: support to achieve goals and improve mental wellbeing

16 August 2022

From supporting people to secure appropriate housing to helping them connect to their community, live more independently or make positive choices, selectability has helped thousands of individuals across regional Queensland to achieve their NDIS goals.

selectability's NDIS service offering includes individual support both in the home and in the community; group support through our Clubhouses and Mental Health Hubs; support coordination; psychosocial recovery coaching; counselling and therapeutic support; and supported independent living.

selectability Chief Operating Officer, Aaron Farrell, said that while the organisation specialised in working with individuals with mental health conditions they also had extensive experience in supporting people with acquired brain injuries and autism.

“We’re a values-based organisation and we believe that everyone deserves to live the life of their choice – regardless of their circumstances, diagnosis or situation,” said Aaron.

“We understand that everyone is different and we use a person-centred approach, drawing on practical tools and strategies to enhance an individual’s quality of life and support them to achieve their goals.”

Delivering these NDIS services across regional Queensland is selectability's highly skilled workforce of more than 550 employees including lifestyle support workers, recovery coaches, peer support workers, life coaches, social workers, accredited counsellors and general psychologists.

Aaron said that they were always looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds to join the growing organisation.

‘We are committed to ensuring our workforce is highly competent, capable and skilled to ensure that our consumers are receiving the best service possible.

“When we find the right employees we want them to stay so we have a range of pathways and learning opportunities to support career progression.

“This includes our  own RTO, selectability Training, where our employees benefit from heavily discounted courses; we also draw on the knowledge of our industry experts to deliver our professional development program.

“You don’t need any experience or qualifications to start working with selectability, just a positive, can-do attitude.

“Working for selectability is much more than a job – it’s a career.”
