Meet the team: Sue-Ellen Weedon

22 April 2024

Ahead of the opening of our new Mackay Mental Health Hub, selectability is highlighting the tremendous efforts of employees within the region.

Meet Sue-Ellen, regional coordinator for Mackay, a fearless leader with a wealth of experience in various roles within the sector.

Previously the regional coordinator for Charters Towers, Sue-Ellen’s experience in standing up and overseeing services provides utmost confidence in the future of selectability in Mackay.

“I have always been passionate helping people so working in the disability service sectors aligns perfectly with my personal values,” said Sue-Ellen.

As a part of her day to day, Sue-Ellen works with local stakeholders and consumers to ensure our services are in line with the diverse needs of the community.

More recently, Sue-Ellen and her team have been working to accommodate more services through a new facility at 21 River St.

“Moving to our new facility is very exciting!

“It will bring a lot of fantastic benefits for our consumers including all services being under one roof, more activities to choose from and extended operating hours.

“I am excited to be working alongside the Mackay team to support individuals and groups across the region.

“A big part of my role will be networking with stakeholders to increase awareness of selectability and ensure that people know how to access our services.”

It is safe to say that the fostered environment that Mackay employees create for consumers, directly correlates to it’s strong reputation in the region.

Sue-Ellen’s reputation and passion for her expertise is one that only bolsters their capacity.
