Meet the team: Shannen Williams

1 May 2023

Meet Shannen – she has been outspoken about her love for selectability since she first started a year and a half ago.

Shannen is Team Leader at the Mental Health Hub in her hometown of Ingham and previously held the role of Lifestyle Support Worker.

“Part of my role is to ensure consumers are being met with the best possible care to meet their needs and providing the community with a safe haven, otherwise known as Harmony Clubhouse,” Shannen said.

When asked about what she loves about her role, Shannen’s answer is simple: “What don’t I love?”

“If I were to name just one thing I love, it would be seeing and celebrating progress with our wonderful consumers.

“Being a big part of that process is definitely a highlight of my job.

Throughout her life, Shannen has remained community-driven, working in pubs, cafes, hairdressers and as a youth worker.

“Although the occupations may vary, they all share one thing in common: serving and engaging with my community.”

In her spare time, along with her four sons, Shannen enjoys gaming, reading, and is a die-hard Doctor Who fan.

Passionate employees like Shannen are the backbone of selectability’s focus of delivering high-quality support to improve the mental wellbeing of regional Queenslanders.

In fact, it is that strong passion for mental wellbeing which opened has the opportunity for progression through selectability’s career progression pathway.

“Definitely go for it! Believe in yourself and your abilities!”
