Meet the team - Matthew Julien
Meet Matt! He’s a recent recruit - joining the team as a quality and compliance officer at our head office in Townsville, in October 2023.
With a strong background in the finance and body corporate sector, Matt’s composed and confident demeanor makes him a strong asset to the organisation.
As a part of his role, Matt ensures that selectability has in place best practice processes and procedures so that our consumers receive high quality supports across services and programs.
“I find it very rewarding that I get to engage with employees at different sites across our footprint and seeing the amazing services we provide our consumers,” said Matt.
In recent weeks, Matt played an instrumental part in ensuring our activities were delivered in line with the Human Services Quality Framework, which focuses on block funded programs like our Clubhouses.
“As a large organisation, it is important that we are compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements, which is what my role is responsible for.
“I am also responsible for monitoring the company’s adherence to these policies and procedures and identifying potential risks.”
Although Matt has only been at selectability for a short time, his determination for career progression is reminiscent of countless other employees in a diverse number of roles across our footprint.
“I would love to be someone that people admire and respect.
“I want to be a great leader, while also being a great workmate!
“Also, to be in a position that I can support my family and live a comfortable life.”
Outside of his day to day, Matt enjoys fishing, footy, golf, and spending time with his family and friends, in what he describes is an important balance in work and life.
“I am a big believer of separating work and life, I find the best way to manage this is to limit the exposure to work (emails, phones, etc.) when outside of working hours and being present.
“We don’t ever get this time back and it is crucial to make the most of every minute.”
