Meet the team: Karisa Bojack
With works to transform the old Caledonian Hall in the Burdekin Mental Health Hub well underway it’s the perfect time to introduce our recently appointed Regional Coordinator for the area- Karisa Bojack.
Karisa is a proud Burdekin local and can’t wait to sink her teeth into her new role which will see her lead and expand selectability’s presence in the region.
“I was born and bred in Home Hill, married a local man and together we have three beautiful children,” said Karia.
“I feel very lucky that we get to raise our children in the Bojack family home just outside of Home Hill among so many loving family members.
‘Having worked in the disability sector for just over six years, taking on the role of Regional Coordinator was an easy decision.”
“I started out a disability support worker and progressed to manager of supported independent living homes and then to a support coordinator, so this role really seemed like the next logicial step in my career within the community services sector.
“I am looking forward to transitioning into the mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention and am super excited to hit the ground running with selectability in the Burdekin.
“Everyone across the region is going to benefit having the services selectability provides delivered locally. clinical support the mental wellbeing of the Burdekin community.
Services to be run out of the selectability Mental Health Hub include NDIS individual and group supports, selectwellbeing group programs, clinical services (via telehealth) and carer services
“I look forward to build on my existing networks to create strong and productive relationships so we can work together to ensure the services are in line with community needs.
“I will also work with my team to ensure we are tailoring services to the individual needs, goals and aspirations of our consumers.”
