Meet the team: Colleen Murphy

30 October 2023

Meet Colleen! She has been working for selectability close to 4 months as a team leader in Rockhampton.

Colleen has lived the majority of her life in Rockhampton - spending those years giving back to her community through many of her previous jobs.

“I have a wide range of skills and knowledge that I have gained over the years working with both young people and adults with positive goal outcomes,” said Colleen.

“For the last 8 years I have worked in child safety residential, as well as NDIS supported independent living and community access support.”

Now with selectability, Colleen is adapting her experience through her role as a team leader, where she coaches and supports a team of lifestyle support workers to tailor services to the needs of consumers with mental ill-health and psychosocial disability.

For Colleen, a positive work environment is key to high quality service delivery.

“Even though I am only relatively new to this role, the positive work atmosphere has been great, very calm relaxing and supportive which is a very welcoming change!”

Outside of her role, Colleen prides herself on being family orientated, with a very simple outlook on life.

This is often reflected on the time she spends with her children and grandchildren, with a great- grandchild on the way.

Through all of her previous work experience, and selfless outlook on life employees like Colleen serve as a direct reflection of our values at selectability.

Not only does this make Colleen a positive asset to the Rockhampton team, but consumers as well.
