Celebrating the festive season across our footprint!

21 December 2023

After an exciting year at selectability, consumers across a few of our regions have celebrated the festive season in style. From dazzling Christmas parties, to craft activities, here’s how some of our Mental Health Hubs and Clubhouses are celebrating this year!

Palm Island

Consumers in Palm Island are all smiles as they celebrate another great year. Solidifying our relationship with the community and providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to yarn, and eat some nutritious (and delicious) food. From ham and chicken, to fried rice and individual custard and jelly trifle! The perfect way to celebrate the season!

Townsville

selectability corner is currently working hard ahead of their annual holiday lunch. Consumers and attendees will enjoy a delicious roast meal in a space where they can celebrate, make social connections and learn about the support available in the community!

This holiday lunch is made in collaboration with Suicide Prevention Queensland and supported by the Townsville City Council.

Mackay

Mackay clubhouse consumers have been making the most of the tri-weekly sewing nook this December. From bags to mended pants, Mackay clubhouse continues to help consumers learn new skills to assist in them reaching their goals.

The festive spirit continues with a generous donation: 12 care bags from Share the Dignity!

Moranbah

Moranbah Mental Health Hub has celebrated its first festive season since opening! And they are doing so in style! Consumers and community members have taken particular interest in crafting their own baubles, and decorating plates.

The festive spirit continued later in the week with a holiday lunch, serving up delicious Christmas treats!

Ingham

Our Ingham clubhouse followed suit with an array of nutritious food for consumers. The roast chicken, coleslaw and roast potatoes certainly made sure no one went home hungry. The entertainment was a hit with smiles all round!

Rockhampton

Consumers of the Rockhampton selectability clubhouse weekend program; in a generous effort to give back to the community; held a sausage sizzle for regular more than 50 visitors and local fishermen on the banks of the Fitzroy River.

Consumers and support workers said it was not just an effort to spread joy in light of the festive season, but to give back to a community so welcoming and kind, especially when enjoying a group walk along the river! Well done to all involved!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy festive season!
