Get disaster ready
[feature-block]
Are you disaster ready?
selectability is committed to providing safe, secure and reliable services to consumers and a safe work environment for our employees. In light of the fast approaching disaster season, here are a few things you can do to get disaster ready:
prepare an emergency kit
It is important that you have a suitable emergency kit in an accessible area, with important items essential for emergencies. These kits should be equipped with food, water, medical supplies, lights, communications devices, clothing and special items for those with health conditions. You can find more information on how to prepare an emergency kit here.
have a plan
It is important that each member of your household is familiar with what to do in the event of an emergency. Whether that be researching hazard and disaster management in your own community or having an evacuation plan in place. You can find more information about this here.
stay informed
Having a strong understanding of important information is vital for staying prepared during disaster season. Each local government has disaster dashboards available so you can stay updated and informed.
