Meet the team: Tim Burden

18 January 2022

Meet Tim, acting team leader (support coordination) in Townsville. Joining the organisation three years ago, Tim has taken advantage of the many career progression opportunities on offer at selectability, moving from lifestyle support worker, to support coordinator to now heading up one of our growing teams.

Before studying with selectability Training Tim held various jobs in different fields but has since found a passion in the disability and community service sectors.

“I held a lot of different jobs before the NDIS came to Townsville. I worked to complete my certificate III in individual support with selectability Training and after learning so much I knew I wanted to work with selectability.”

As acting team leader support coordination, Tim works with consumers to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages to ensure that they are getting the most out of their plan.

“In support coordination we support and empower our consumers to make choices about how they want to lead their lives.

“We help to coordinate a variety of services for consumers so that they can live a fulfilling and meaningful life.”

A supportive workplace, great staff and amazing consumers are the things that Tim enjoys most about working for selectability.

“The team at selectability is really supportive and the people we work with, our consumers, are great. Helping people achieve their goals is very rewarding.

“The job is so varied and I enjoy all of different activities involved in it.  I love getting out in the community.

“Everyone works together to make a difference and support our consumers.”
