selectability has been holding various events around its footprint this week, promoting the importance of conversation, making connections and checking in on those around us, as we aim to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.

Townsville Clubhouse brightens Flinders street 

selectability employees and some of the Townsville clubhouse members walked down Flinders street on RU Ok? Day to spread yellow cheer in the form of hand-made macrame bracelets. The team also checked in on local businesses along the strip to share information and to connect.

Moranbah breakfast drive-through

You could not miss the Moranbah team hosting their drive-through breakfast event on Wednesday morning. Community members who drove or walked through were treated with breakfast muffins. The focus of the event was to open up conversations, raise awareness and reduce the stigma on World Suicide Prevention Day. 

Richmond community come together for Suicide Prevention and RU Ok? Day

Community members attended the Richmond Wellbeing Hub for a grill and gather in support of Suicide Prevention Day. Visitors to the hub started their day with mouthwatering smoked brisket burgers and sizzling sausages. The breakfast event was a great opportunity not only to enjoy good food but also to connect, share stories, and foster a supportive environment demonstrating that no one is alone in their struggles. 

On RU Ok? Day the Richmond Wellbeing Hub teamed up with Kronosaurus Korner's Moonrock Cafe manager Jodie Fox to deliver 100 cupcakes to businesses along the main street.

Rockhampton Hub receive a sweet surprise

Visitors to the RU Ok? Day event at selectability Rockhampton Hub were pleasantly surprised with the themed sweet treats donated by Galactic Donuts. The event welcomed the community to drop in to the hub to share a cuppa and have a chat. 

Longreach connect with community

The team in Longreach connected with community at their RU Ok? Day stall on Eagle street this week, as well as the Walk 4 Wegert community event for suicide prevention. Both events were a great opportunity to raise awareness and provide resources for people seeking mental health support.

Mackay team has a busy day in support of Suicide Prevention and RU Ok? Day

A jam-packed day of activities and fun to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention and R U Ok? Day! was had by those who attended the Mackay Clubhouse on Thursday. The day started with a cuppa and crafts at the clubhouse followed by a mindfulness walk at Blue Water Quay. After a BBQ lunch the team also hosted a triathlon of games. 

Ingham welcome the community to connect

The Ingham team encouraged connection by hosting a BBQ at their clubhouse. The team used this time to check in with those around them and to promote the RU OK Day theme that any day can be RU Ok? day.

Sarina welcome the community to the hub

The Sarina team encouraged connection by also hosting a BBQ at their clubhouse. 

Bowen get out and about in the community

A great day was had by all at the annual R U Ok? Day event at the Bowen Community Centre.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, with members of the Bowen community coming together to show support and learn more about the services we provide.

Happy rock painting activity was especially popular and brought plenty of smiles.

The Bowen team also held a free breakfast BBQ at the Front Beach for recipients and the wider community.

It was a great opportunity to connect with locals on their morning walk, share the importance of breaking the stigma around suicide, and raise awareness of the services we provide.
