About the role

selectability - Mackay is seeking a full-time Suicide Prevention Coordinator who will be responsible for developing, leading and coordinating multiple programs, which will be co-designed to meet areas of unmet need of individual regions across regional Queensland. This position reports directly to the General Manager and requires some travel.

Main duties

The Suicide Prevention Coordinator’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing community and corporate support for suicide prevention initiatives
  • Ensuring there is no duplicate of services
  • Undertaking research to identify areas of unmet need within the community
  • Reporting on contract deliverables and KPIs

Where there is unmet need:

  • Establishing and coordinating suicide prevention community networks across regional Queensland
  • Development of Suicide Prevention Community Action Plans
  • Supporting community networks to develop and implement local services and programs
  • Implementing selectability’s current suicide prevention support services and programs and ensuring full compliance with funding contracts
  • Delivering training programs and educating the community around what services are already available

About you

  • A passion about reducing suicide across regional Queensland
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and working with community networks
  • The ability to work flexible hours with some travel
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 2 years Australian experience in the mental health and/or suicide prevention sector
  • A commitment to best practice
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Full Drivers licence
  • A Positive Notice Working with Children (Blue Card) with a Yellow Card Exemption or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
    COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Most importantly… a positive attitude

Qualifications & requirements

  • current drivers' drivers license (minimum P2)
  • roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured car
  • Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) with a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
    NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate

It is a mandatory condition of employment for this position to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will be required prior to commencing
