Meet the Team: Mary Gregerson

22 June 2026

For people navigating some of life’s most complex challenges, having the right support can make all the difference.

As a Specialist Support Coordinator, Mary Gregerson works alongside recipients experiencing significant barriers, helping them navigate complex systems, build support networks and move towards greater stability and independence.

Based in Townsville, Mary supports recipients with complex needs, often working across multiple services and agencies to coordinate care and reduce risk.

Her role can involve supporting people transitioning from hospital, corrections or the child protection system, with a focus on creating sustainable supports that allow recipients to live the life they choose.

“Specialist Support Coordination involves clearly understanding both the individual and larger systems of support,” said Mary.

“I often support those who may be exiting hospital, prison or the child protection system with a focus on setting up systems to reduce complexity in the long run so my recipients can go about living their life the best way that works for them.

Originally from New South Wales near Canberra, Mary moved north more than 20 years ago and now proudly calls Queensland home.

Her career has been dedicated to supporting others, first through child protection and family support services and more recently within the disability sector.

“I am trained as a psychologist but have spent my career working in community service roles.

“Having spent 15 years in the child protection and family support space, and now three years supporting individuals in the disability sector.

Mary joined selectability just over three years ago and says one of the things she enjoys most about her role is the opportunity to work creatively alongside recipients to achieve meaningful outcomes.

“I love the variety in my work.

“I love that I have the freedom to think outside the box and brainstorm with my recipients how they can reach their goals.”

That person-centred approach is reflected in one of the most important lessons she has learned throughout her career.

“I always try to meet people where they’re at, not where others think they should be.

“I value the dedication of the team I work in and the larger community and enjoy working alongside others to help people live happy lives.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time with family, exploring new places and experiences, and hopes to travel more in the future.

Through her work as a Specialist Support Coordinator, Mary helps recipients navigate complexity, strengthen their support networks and build pathways towards a more stable and independent future.
