Meet the team: Bri Kingston

With more than five years' experience supporting people across Cairns, Bri is helping locals find their place in the community with NDIS support that fits them. 

As a support coordinator and psychosocial recovery coach, Bri works alongside recipients to help them understand their NDIS plans, access the right supports and build the confidence to live independently. 

“A large part of my role is to help NDIS recipients understand their plans and connect with both mainstream and NDIS-funded supports,” said Bri. 

“My focus is on coaching, collaboration with services and building on individual strengths.  

“I support recipients to take control of their lives and work through barriers to achieve their goals.” 

Bri began her journey with selectability as a lifestyle support worker before moving into support coordination.  

The progression allowed her to combine her passion for mental health with her drive to make a lasting difference. 

“The best part of my job is seeing the positive impact of the support we provide. 
 
“Helping people overcome challenges and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding. I love knowing that I’m making a real difference in someone’s life.” 

As a proud Cairns local, Bri understands the importance of community connection in delivering person-centred care.  

Her day-to-day work reflects selectability’s commitment to empowering recipients to live life on their terms through trusted and reliable support. 

“I wanted to work in an environment where I could help individuals overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve their goals. 

“The NDIS sector aligns closely with my values, particularly around inclusion, empowerment and person-centred support.” 

Over the years, Bri’s progression has allowed her to develop a strong understanding of the NDIS, helping her provide the best care to recipients.  

“Every person’s journey is unique, and progress often takes time. 

“It’s important to listen deeply, collaborate with other services, and adapt to changing circumstances to ensure recipients feel supported and empowered. 

“So, it is important to come into the sector with an open mind and a lot of patience.  

“It’s a rewarding role, but it requires empathy, resilience and a commitment to supporting people to achieve their goals.” 

Outside of work, Bri enjoys staying active and connected through sport. 

“I know the Cairns area well and love exploring everything it has to offer. 

“Outside of work, I’m passionate about animals. I have one pet cat and I enjoy playing soccer, which keeps me active and connected with my community!”
