Creative connections: young people’s art skills on display for 30th anniversary
Every child and young person has a unique story to tell and creativity can be a powerful way for them to share it, build confidence and connect with the people around them.
As part of selectability’s 30-year celebrations, child and young people in our care across regional Queensland have been putting their creativity on display through a special online art exhibition celebrating the theme, ‘Care, connection and community’.
Through a range of creative activities, including rock painting, mini canvas art, comic creation and hands-on craft projects, young people explored what care, connection and community means to them.
From family and friendships to hobbies, culture, favourite places and future aspirations, each artwork forms part of a vibrant collection that celebrates individuality, showcases creativity and reflects what matters most to the young person who created it.
We are proud to share a selection of these incredible artworks, showcasing the talents, creativity and stories of the young people in our care and celebrating the important role that care, connection and community play in their lives and throughout selectability's 30-year journey.

Celebrating culture

Through this creative project, they are learning about the meaning and significance of cultural colours and symbols, while exploring and expressing their cultural identity through art.
