Mental Health Hub Mackay

selectability Mackay's Mental Health Hub provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals to build confidence, learn new skills and make social connections to support their mental wellbeing.

Programs and groups on offer are focused on improving psychosocial function and are aimed at assisting individuals to develop skills in locating and accessing services to meet their needs. Our programs have an emphasis on building confidence, connection and resilience through activities such as art, music, psychoeducation, fitness and like skills developed.

Facilitated by a team of mental health professionals and peer workers, we partner with key community organisations to deliver workshops on a range of topics including financial literacy and budgeting, health and fitness, independent living and employment and training.

Our recovery-oriented programs draw on the valuable knowledge of those with lived experience of mental illness. We understand that everyone’s journey is different and thus our program allows for access for as long as required.

New groups!

Rhythm to Recovery Thursday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm
R2R is a fun and engaging rhythmic musical activity that supports social and emotional development. You don’t need any musical skills to attend, just a willingness to participate and have fun.

The activities will be performed in a non-judgmental environment, where you can freely relax and enjoy making music and growing from this experience.

The Sewing Nook Tuesday from 9.30am to 11.30am
A fun social group to promote ‘me time’. Sewing is a great way to reduce stress, boost self-confidence and practice mindfulness. Beginners are welcome!

Wellness workshops Wednesday from 1pm to 2.30pm

Explores a range of different topics to help consumers gain knowledge, learn practical skills, and equip them with tools to understand and influence their recovery journey and how to support their wellbeing.

Book Worms Friday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Explore our local library services and their group offerings while being supported by our staff in a safe and welcoming space.
