Celebrating the festive season around the regions
After an amazing year at selectability, recipients across a few of our regions have celebrated the festive season in style. From dazzling holiday parties to craft activities, here’s how some of our services and programs are celebrating this year!
Ingham
The Ingham Clubhouse embraced the festive season with a week of creative and hands-on activities.
Recipients came together to make a range of treats, including chocolate balls and Christmas crack, sharing plenty of laughs along the way.
The group also learned new skills by sewing their own stockings. The celebrations were topped off with a festive group photo with Santa!
Normanton
Aged Care team in Normanton has brought festive joy to the Lower Gulf, taking out first place in the community Christmas light competition.
selectability’s Gulfland Motel also took out second place, congratulations on the tremendous effort!
Rockhampton
Rockhampton hosted a vibrant community Christmas lunch, welcoming around 60 to 80 people for a day of connection and celebration.
Recipients, providers and community members enjoyed festive activities including card making, colouring in, paper chains, movies and music.
An assortment of festive food, prepared by employees and the cooking group program, as well as a special visit from Santa really made for a special day!
Palm Island
Palm Island hosted a festive community lunch, with a wide range of food enjoyed by recipients and the local community.
Recipients and employees worked together in the lead-up, preparing meals to support a strong turnout on the day.
The celebrations followed a week of creative activities, including beading sessions and a drumming circle in the park!
With music, dancing and plenty of smiles, the week was a joyful celebration of connection and fun.
Mackay
Clubhouse recipients in Mackay have brought the festivities to the community, singing a range of Christmas carols to locals.
They also embarked on a festive evening in the community to see the Christmas light displays.

Burdekin
Burdekin recipients have spent the past few weeks getting into the festive spirit through a shared craft project, crafting colourful Santa faces together.
The ongoing activity provided opportunities to slow down, connect and enjoy time with one another.
The completed artworks reflect the joy and personality of the group and have added a cheerful, festive touch to the space.
Townsville
Townsville Mental Health Hub and Clubhouse celebrated the festive season with their annual holiday lunches.
Both events created an afternoon of fun, food and laughter to celebrate, make social connections and learn that support is available in the community.
Richmond
Richmond recipients took to the community for a festive evening, firing up the van to view local Christmas light displays.
The outing offered a relaxed way to enjoy the simple joy of seeing the town lit up for the season, bringing plenty of smiles along the way.
Later in the week, the community was invited to a gift wrap session at the hub, providing a relaxed space for locals to wrap gifts for their families and connect with others.
The festivity continued on at the hub with a Christmas lunch. Recipients and employees enjoyed a delicious spread and participated in a variety of fun holiday themed games.
Bowen
Bowen clubhouse had a blast celebrating the festive season with a Christmas party.
There was an array of delicious food to enjoy, from homemade pizza scrolls to fresh prawns.
The fun didn't stop there, as the group also participated in a wellness workout allowing them to reflect over this year's achievements.
Charters Towers
Charters Towers celebrated the festive season with a vibrant lunch allowing everyone to connect with one another and recognise the achievements over the year.
Recipients embraced the spirit of the holiday season with various activities such as a jolly dress up, secret santa and creating decadent pavlovas.
Longreach
Longreach recipients and employees have brought in a warm festive season with a festive lunch. The newly launched clubhouse program has brought connection and activity
